1. UZANA Ecotrail

If you are guests in the place of Uzana, you have an opportunity to enjoy yourself, walking the Uzana Ecotrail.
The entrance arch is next to Impulse Hotel, the layout of the path is placed on it. Most of its part is located in the cool beech forest. Plates containing the most found tree species are fitted, rest nooks with places for making a fire, sports facilities, two shelters having barbecue are built. The peaks Shipka, Buzludzha and Bedek are seen from the panoramic ground.
On a small glade, surrounded by a forest and rock formations the Forest School is situated. It is a real class room in the open air, where the youngest students will receive their first lessons on nature and why the Protected Territories are needed.
For the young tourist there are also Indian tents with a watch-tower and fireplace, as well as the Amphitheatre in the open air.
2. Educational route “First Steps for Magician Beginners”

It includes two circles and begins from the building of the Mountain Rescue Service.
The first circle leads to Ispolin Peak. Panoramic views are opened in the east towards the peaks Shipka, Buzludzha, Bedek, in the south – towards the glittering waters of Koprinka Artificial Lake and the Valley of Thracian Kings, in the west – towards the Triglav Massif. In the north, the Uzana Glade (the biggest ridge glade in the Balkan Mountains) is plainly visible. On the way back, you can stop by the tower for bird watching in the place Markov Stol, and in the end of the route, to climb the artificial climbing wall which is fitted on the building of Mountain Rescue Service.
The second circle also begins from the building of the Mountain Rescue Service and before long you will arrive at the House of Baba Yaga, there is a summer-house and a fireplace next to it. Following the marking, you will go past the Geographical Centre of Bulgaria, and through a mixed beech forest you will get to the Laboratory of Baba Yaga – next to the villa of Gabrovo Municipality.
At this place the young magicians will have the opportunity to prepare herbal teas and healing fomentations, to distinguish the extracts from the plants different in colour, odour and taste.
Then after a short climbing the path, you will appear next to a cozy shelter, part of the Uzana Ecotrail, past the Forest School and you will arrive at the glade next to the entrance arch of Uzana Ecotrail.
Both circles give opportunity of acquainting with the medicinal plants in the region, main tree species and most found mammals, birds and butterflies. A great number of educational and illustrated boards and maps are placed.
Part of the educational route First Steps for Magician Beginners is the artificial climbing wall. It is built on the building of the Mountain Rescue Service in the place of Uzana, in order to spare the natural habitat of rare and protected plant and animal species.
In order to avoid incidents, the handles are removed and the wall is used only in the presence of a mountain rescuer.
